Technical specifi cati ons
WARNING! Read this informati on before using the radio.
FCC Statement
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protecti on against harmful interference in a residenti al installati on. This equipment
generates and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed and used in accordance with the instructi ons, it may cause harm-
ful interference to radio communicati ons. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a parti cular installati on.
Verifi cati on of harmful interference by this equipment to radio or television recepti on can be determined by turning it off and then
on. The user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separati on between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit diff erent from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
Changes or modifi cati ons not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate
the equipment. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operati on is subject to the following two conditi ons:
(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and
(2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operati on.
WARNING: MODIFICATION OF THIS DEVICE TO RECEIVE CELLULAR RADIOTELEPHONE SERVICE SIGNALS IS PROHIBIITED UNDER FCC
RULES AND FEDERRAL LAW.
Compliance with RF Exposure Standards
The radio complies with the following RF energy exposure standards and guidelines:
• United States Federal Communicati ons Commission, Code of Federal Regulati ons; 47 CFR § 1.1307, 1.1310 and 2.1093
• American Nati onal Standards Insti tute (ANSI) / Insti tute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) C95.1:2005; Canada RSS102
Issue 5 March 2015

GMRS Communicati on
This GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) feature is a land-mobile service available for short-distance, two-way communicati ons
in the USA. You must have a valid FCC license to communicate on these channels. The GMRS/FRS frequencies that radio this radio
uses are set aside for communicati ng with others while hiking, biking, and working; keeping track of family and friends at a crowded
public event; checking with travel companions in another car; talking with neighbors; arranging meeti ng spots with others while
shopping at the mall. Licensed users will be issued a call sign by the FCC, which should be used for stati on identi fi cati on when
operati ng this radio. GMRS users should also cooperate by engaging in permissible transmissions only, avoiding channel interference
with other GMRS users, and being prudent with the length of their transmission ti me.
GMRS FCC Licensing
This two-way radio operates on GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) frequencies which require an FCC (Federal Communicati ons
Commission) license. A user must be licensed prior to transmitti ng on the GMRS band with this radio. Serious penalti es could result
for unlicensed use of GMRS channels, in violati on of FCC rules. Operati on of this radio is subject to additi onal rules specifi ed in 47
54-55
C.F.R. Part 95. For licensing informati on and applicati on forms, please call the FCC Hotline at 800418-FORM. Request form #159 and
form #605. Questi ons regarding the license applicati on should be directed to the FCC at 888-CALL-FCC. Additi onal informati on is
available on the FCC's website at www.fcc.gov.
NOTE Even if you operate this radio on FRS (Family Radio Service) channels at low power (1 watt ), you are required to have an FCC
license. Because this radio operates in the 1 to 5 watt GMRS power range all GMRS rules apply and will require you have a GMRS
license even for FRS (Family Radio Service) communicati on. Normal FRS only radios operate at a maximum power of 1/2 watt (500
mill watt ) power and have an integral (non-detachable) antenna.
