ð Change values in index 260 (0x104) Detection range [x10 µm] and in index

set.
8.3.2 Manual teach-in of up to 8 switching points
Notes
• Limiting factors are the repeatability and the resolution, the distance between
2 switching points can be less than 1 mm.
Procedure
Using Qint.1 as an example:
1. Select switching point mode Window Mode or Two-point Mode. See
g 11.5 IO-Link switching point
2. Set the starting point and the end point of the switching point width: Adjust
index 60 (0x3C) Qint.1 SP1 / SP2 .
3. Set the switching point logic: Adjust index 61 (0x3D) Qint.1 Configuration >
Subindex 1 (0x01) Switchpoint Logic .
4. Set the switching point mode: Adjust index 61 (0x3D) Qint.1 Configuration >
Subindex 2 (0x02) Switchpoint Mode .
5. Set the switching point hysteresis: Adjust index 61 (0x3D) Qint.1 Configura-
tion > Subindex 3 (0x03) Switchpoint Hysteresis .
6. Configure Qint.2 SP1 / SP2 and Qint.3 SP1 / SP2 ... Qint.8 SP1 / SP2: Adjust in-
dices 62 (0x3E) and 16384 (0x4000) ... 16395 (0x400B).
ð The hysteresis of the configured switching points is 0.7 mm.
8.3.3 Alert messages
Reading out via indices
1. Use indices 4369 (0x1111) DD - Alert limit and 4399 (0x112F) Actuator alert
limits to adjust the alert limits.
2. Use indices 4370 (0x1112) DD - Alert flags and 4400 (0x1130) Actuator alerts
to read out alert messages. (default)
Reading out via the process date
ü Alert messages can be read out if the set alert limit is exceeded.
1. Use indices 4369 (0x1111) DD - Alert limit and 4399 (0x112F) Actuator alert
limits to adjust the alert limits.
2. Set alert messages in index 67 (0x43) Process data user definition instead of
the switching points. See g Table 3.
3. Read out alert messages via the process date.
ð Alert messages are automatically transferred at regular intervals.

Table 3: Reading out alert messages via the process date
Value
Description
60
Group alert: Cycle time (type: event)
Content: Index 4400 (0x1130) Actuator alerts > Subindex 2 (0x02) Min. cy-
cle time alert and Subindex 3 (0x03) Max. cycle time alert
65
Direct alert: Operating hours max. (type: event)
68
Direct alert: Power cycles max. (type: event)
69
Direct alert: Cycle count max. (type: event)
90
Direct alert: Total actuator travel max. (type: event)
Setting the alert delay time
The set alert delay time only affects alert messages of the "status" type. Alert
messages of the "event" type occur immediately after falling below or exceeding
the set limit.
Use index 4842 (0x12EA) > Subindex (0x01) Alert delay time [ms] to set the
u
alert delay time.
ð Alert is only issued if the corresponding alert condition is fulfilled for longer
than the alert delay time defined here.
Automatically resetting alerts
The automatic alert reset designates the time after which alerts will automati-
cally be reset if the alert bits in the process data do not change.
A negative value deactivates the automatic reset of alert messages. By default,
the automatic alert reset is deactivated.
Use index 4842 (0x12EA) > Subindex 2 (0x02) Automatic alert reset time [ms]
u
to set the alert reset.
8.3.4 Switching point
Inverting the switch point logic
Adjust subindex 1 (0x01) Switchpoint Logic.
u
ð The logic of the taught-in switching points is inverted. By default, the switch-
ing points are in 'high' state when they are passed.
Switching point hysteresis
Use subindex 3 (0x03) Switchpoint Hysteresis to adjust the hysteresis in 10-µm
u
increments (max.: 327.67 mm, min.: 0.01 mm).
Switching point width
ü Switching point mode Cylinder switch mode selected. See
switching point
modes.
1. Perform manual teach-in.
2. Use index 170 (0xAA) Switchpoint width [x10µm] to determine the width of
the taught-in switching points (default: 2 mm, max.: 10 mm).
8.3.5 Carry out a reset
Result
The product is restarted.
The following indices will be reset:
• 4372 (0x1114) Actuator travel [x10 µm]
• 4380 (0x111C) Cycle time [ms]
• 4381 (0x111D) Dwell time [ms]
• 4379 (0x111B) Actuator travel time [ms]
• 4375 (0x1117) Average actuator velocity [m/s]
• 4602 (0x11FA) Current field strength [mT]
4604 (0x111FC) Peak field strength
The following indices will be retained:
• 4374 (0x1116) Total actuator travel [sum m]
• 4382 (0x111E) Cycle count [sum]
• Qint. 1-8 SP1 / SP2, Qint. 1-8 Configuration
• The measured values of the algorithm are reset. See Reset trained algorithm parameter.
• The settings are reset to the default values.
The following indices will be retained:
• 4356 (0x1104) Operating hours
• 4357 (0x1105) Power cycles > Subindex 1
• 4382 (0x111E) Cycle count [sum]
• 4374 (0x1116) Total actuator travel [sum m]
