f Never bypass the safety equipment of the machine or set it out of operation ("Working
areas, potential hazards and safety measures on the device", page 41).
f Only operate the device with the milling chamber and the service flap closed, the suction
unit connected and the filled tank/filter in place.
f To avoid damaging the unit and reducing the performance, follow the cleaning
instructions and cycles ("Cleaning", page 53 and Cleaning guidelines in the Operating
Instructions, "Supporting documents", page 36).
f Only operate the device unsupervised if the operating conditions for unsupervised
operation described below are fulfilled.
Unsupervised operation:
The machine may be operated unsupervised, provided the national and local laws and
provisions allow for such action and provided that they are observed. Furthermore, the
requirements of the respective insurance company must be met.
The following conditions must be complied with in order to guarantee unattended
operation.
f Never use the device if the milling chamber is heavily soiled.
f Protect the device against unauthorized access.
f Ensure that the room in which the device will operate is equipped with an automatic fire
alarm system.
Patients with cardiac pacemakers or pacemaker electrodes:
f During operation, there may be interference with other electrical medical equipment.
f Patients with cardiac pacemakers or pacemaker electrodes are at risk from the following
potential hazards:
• Interference with the pacemaker function
• Damage to the cardiac pacemaker
f If in doubt, either you or your patient should get in touch with a cardiologist.

Cleaning by the user
f Only clean as specified in these Short Instructions and the Operating Instructions
and observe the associated safety regulations ("Cleaning", page 53 and Cleaning
guidelines in the Operating Instructions, "Supporting documents", page 36).
