Function and device overview
If you use the device in a security application it has to be operated in
connection with an UPS (uninterruptible power supply) in order to
bridge possible power failure.
The device must only be operated within residential buildings.
Using the device for any purpose other than that described in this
operating manual does not fall within the scope of intended use and
will invalidate any warranty or liability.
3 Function and device overview
The Homematic IP Dimming Actuator for Brand Switches – Internati-
onal offers installation with a flush-mounting box for switches of vari-
ous popular manufacturers. Once installed, the device dims or switches
connected loads on and off. The dimming actuator enables comfortable
control of connected loads using the push-button rocker of the switch, a
Homematic IP remote control or via the Homematic IP app. If the push-
button is operated briefly, the dimming actuator switches the connected
load on or off. In order to regulate the brightness of the lamp or lumi-
naire, press and hold down the rocker until the required brightness has
been reached.
Adapters for different switches enable switches from popular manufac-
turers to be replaced cost effectively with an intelligent Homematic IP
installation. Using existing or planned switches and cabling reduces the
cost of installation to a minimum. The design, colour and finish of already
installed switches remain the same since existing frames and rockers can
continue to be used.
