You can make the supplied remote commander to
operate the functions of another remote commander.
Use this function to operate equipment whose
manufacturer's code is not pre-programmed such as
Sony or other manufacturers' audio equipment and
video equipment or a cable box whose manufacturer's
code is not listed on pages 36 and 39.

1 Set the VTR1-2-3 MDP selector to VTR3 or
MOP.

2 Place the supplied remote commander and
the other equipment's remote commander
directly facing each other, approximately
5 cm (2 inches) apart.

3 Press LEARN.
The LEARN indicator lights up in red.

4 press the button on the supplied remote
commander that will learn the function.
The LEARN indicator goes off and light up again,
and a short beep sounds indicating that the remote
commander is ready to learn.
5 nold down the corresponding button on
the other remote commander and release
the button when the LEARN indicator turns
red.
A long beep sounds and the LEARN indicator goes
off and lights up again, indicating that learning is
complete. If not, repeat steps 4 and 5.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 to learn other
functions.
7 Press LEARN.
The LEARN indicator lights up in red, then goes
off, indicating that learning is complete.
Notes
e The LEARNING function does not work in VTR1 or VTR2
setting.
e Do not move the remote commanders during learning.
e If you press a button of the supplied remote commander that
cannot be used for learning, four short beeps sound and the
LEARN indicator flashes four times.
¢ If the other remote commander's signal cannot be learned, a
short beep sounds and the LEARN indicator flashes once.
e If the memory is full, three short beeps sound and the LEARN
indicator flashes. Use another button for learning. The
function that was previously learned by the button is erased.
