4.5. WORK MODES.
Abbreviations - Definition of terms - Translations.
SOC
– State Of Charge: Battery charge status.
DOD
– Depth Of Discharge: Depth of discharge of the battery
Load: General consumption loads.
Back-up Load
: Critical consumption loads. They are the loads
powered through the Back-up output.
Grid: Mains.
PN
– Rated power: Inverter rated power.
PAC
– AC output power: PAC = P
PeakLoad: Consumption peak.
The work modes that can be selected according to the installation's
requirements are detailed below:
4.5.1. General mode.
4.5.1.1. Brief introduction.
General mode seeks a balance. It prioritises the supply of loads
using the solar panel power, and if the consumption is lower than
the photovoltaic generation and therefore there are surpluses,
they are used to charge the battery. On the other hand, if con-
sumption is higher than the photovoltaic generation, the battery is
used, and if consumption is still higher, the grid is used.
4.5.1.2. General mode operation.

The system will power the loads using the energy produced by
the solar panels whenever possible. If this is not enough (either
because the installation's consumption is higher, or because the
generation is lower due to weather conditions), the energy stored
in the batteries* will be used. The sum of both will not be greater
than the rated power of the inverter.
As a last resort, in case the two previous sources are not enough
or the consumption is greater than the rated power of the inverter,
the system will add the missing energy from the grid.
*The batteries will be charged solely with the energy from
the solar panels. They will never be charged from the grid.
4.5.1.3. Operation of the "PeakLoad" function
In
General
mode, the "peak consumption" mode can be selected
for installations that have high occasional consumption and want
to reduce the total power contracted, using the batteries to cover
the consumption peaks instead of using more power from the grid.
P
For this function, the
parameter must be defined: limit on
MAX
power to be imported from the grid. The system will prevent more
power being imported from the grid than the configured limit,
providing the remaining power needed from the photovoltaic gen-
eration and/or from the batteries, as defined in the following sce-
narios. Please note that the system will constantly import the
limit value from the grid.
