Changing the transmission rate (baud rate)
The baud rate can be set to any values of the following table. In the condition delivered, the
device is configured a the baud rate 125kBit/s. This is the standard baud rate of ProMinent.

Table 4: CiA Bit Timing Table
The baud rate of the device can be changed in two different ways:
• Change via LSS (Layer Setting Services) as described in the CiA specification DSP305 (V1.1).
The admissible range for the node address is 0...8.
• Change via the object list via standard SDO traffic.
The presently configured baud rate can be read or a new baud rate can be configured using
the object list index 3F40h, subindex 2.
The admissible range for the node address is 0..8.
The data type of this entry is UNSIGNED BYTE.
4. In order to change the baud rate, the new baud rate index is written to the OBV
index 3F40h, subindex 2.
CAN message to write the new baud rate 250kBit/s:

5. Writing the signature "save" to the index 1010h, subindex 06, results in saving of the baud
rate in the non-volatile memory.

The changed baud rate becomes effective upon the next start of the device. A restart of the
device is also possible using the NMT command "ResetNode".
