Operation Instructions
Warning:
Keep axles and receivers clean and away from dirt and grime, and avoid moisture. If they do get wet, dry the axle and apply a light coating of
"dry" silicone or Teflon-based lubricant to prevent rust and provide easy insertion and removal.
Quick Release Axles
1. To attach the wheel, fully press the quick release button and while holding
down, insert the axle into the receiver.
Make sure the axle is fully inserted into the receiver and locked into place
(quick release button returns to original position) and the wheel does not
come out when pulled.
If the button is not fully extending when inserted, the wheel is not locked into
place and can fall out of the receiver causing bodily harm or injury.
2. To remove the wheel, push down completely on the quick release button and
while it is fully pressed, pull the wheel assembly outwards and away from the
receiver.
Upholstery Tension Adjustment (Seat and Back)
Seat Upholstery:
1. The upholstery is tension adjustable by hook and loop fastener straps. To
adjust the tension on the seat upholstery, access the straps underneath
the seat and adjust to preference. For optimal wheelchair performance
and responsiveness, it is recommended to keep the seat sling tightly
fastened to the wheelchair frame.
2. To tighten the sling, begin with the seat strap just in front of the center of
gravity clamp. Undo the hook and loop fastener strap, pull tightly around
the attachment ring and re-secure on the exposed hook and loop fastener
of the same strap.
3. Continue this same process with the strap behind the clamp. It is best to
alternate with consecutive straps in front and back until there are no more
straps in the back and then finish the remaining straps, working towards
the front. Not following this sequence can potentially allow the front seat
straps to be overtightened, affecting the alignment of the wheelchair
frame, and causing one of the front caster wheels to float.
Back Upholstery:
1. To adjust the tension of the back upholstery, begin by pulling the lower
section of the back support pad from the rear side of the wheelchair up
towards the top of the back support to expose the adjustment straps
(image shown with back already removed).
2. Continue removing the back support pad from the front side of the
adjustment straps as well until all adjustment straps are exposed and can
easily be adjusted. Undo the hook and loop fastener straps and tighten
or loosen to preference. Be careful not to over-tighten the very top straps
as it is possible to pull the vertical back canes too close together which
may affect the performance of the folding operation of the back and side
guards.
