7.
The use of power cords and cables other than those specified by Philips
Respironics may result in non-compliance due to increased emissions or
decreased immunity of the device.
8.
The use of incompatible parts or accessories can result in degraded
performance.
9.
Use only water-based lotions or salves that are oxygen compatible during
setup or use during oxygen therapy. To avoid the risk of fire and burns, never
use petroleum or oil-based lotions or salves.
10. Do not lubricate fittings, connections, tubing, or other accessories of the
oxygen concentrator to avoid the risk of fire and burns.
11. Geriatric or any other patient unable to communicate discomfort, or hear or
see the alarms while using this device, may require additional monitoring.
12. Portable and mobile RF communications equipment can affect Medical
Electrical Equipment. See the EMC section of this manual for distances to
observe between RF Generators and the device to avoid interference.
13. Medical Electrical Equipment needs special precautions regarding EMC and
needs to be installed and put into service according to the EMC information
provided in this manual.
14. If used at the maximum flow of 10 LPM, the outlet pressure may require
adjustment by the equipment provider.
15. Oxygen vigorously accelerates combustion and should be kept away from
heat or open flame. The oxygen concentrator is not suitable for use in the
presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture with air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.
16. Do not smoke, allow others to smoke or have open flames near the
concentrator when it is in use.
17. Do not use oil or grease on the oxygen concentrator or its components as
these substances, when combined with oxygen, can greatly increase the
potential for a fire hazard and personal injury.
18. Do not use the oxygen concentrator if either the plug or power cord is
damaged. Do not use extension cords or electrical adapters.
19. Do not attempt to clean the oxygen concentrator while it is plugged into an
electrical outlet.
20. The oxygen delivery settings of the oxygen concentrator should be
periodically reassessed for the effectiveness of the therapy.
21. Operation of the oxygen concentrator above or outside of the Voltage, LPM,
Temperature, Humidity and/or Altitude values specified may decrease oxygen
concentration levels.
22. Accessories used to connect the patient to the oxygen concentrator must be
compatible to the requirements of ISO 80601-2-69. Application accessories
shall include a means to reduce the propagation of fire, including having a fire
stop device that stops fire and flow of oxygen to the patient.
23. Your home care provider is responsible for performing appropriate preventive
maintenance at the intervals recommended by the device manufacturer.
24. Place the device in a location so as to avoid pollutants and fumes.
