- To release a stuck log, never hit your chipper with blunt objects. Do not mistreat the stuck log
with your feet or any object either, as a sudden release of the stuck piece will cause the log pusher
to give way. It can lead to personal injury or damage to your machine, respectively.
- All safety rules contained in the chapter "General Safety Instructions" shall apply to any of the
interventions described above. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any injury to persons or
animals or damage to property as a result of improper use of this machine or failure to comply
with the
safety standards.
Maintenance and care
Keep your log splitter carefully. Clean the machine after each use. To ensure the best possible
and safest performance, keep your log cracker clean. Lubricate the machine according to the
instructions. Check all seals, pipes, and couplings for leaks before starting your work. Keep the
operating levers and main switch clean, dry, and free of oil or grease.
Cleaning your cracker
1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Use a damp cloth to clean the plastic parts. Do not use cleaning products, solvents or sharp
objects.
3. Use a soft brush to remove dust deposits from motor vents and moving parts at regular
intervals.
3. Always keep all moving parts well oiled. To do this, apply a little oil after each use.
Hydraulic fluid change
IMPORTANT: Take the used oil to a public reception depot and scrupulously observe the relevant
disposal regulations of the country where this log splitter is used. Do not dispose of oil in sewer
systems, on the ground or in bodies of water of any kind.
The hydraulic system is a closed system consisting of an oil tank, an oil pump and control valves.
Too low an oil level can damage the pump. The oil level should not be less than 1–2 cm above
the bottom surface of the oil tank. Change the oil completely once a year.
- Make sure that no foreign particles enter the oil tank.
- Properly dispose of used oil after each oil change.
- Allow your log splitter to run effortlessly for a few minutes after each oil change before starting
your work again.
The following oil grades are suitable for your log cracker:
SHELL Tellus 22
MOBIL DTE 11
ARAL Vitam GF 22
BP Energol HLP-HM 22
Cleaning and sharpening of sliding surfaces
This log splitter is equipped with a specifically treated cutting blade. After a long period of use, it
may happen that the guide surfaces experience some abrasion and become opaque. With a
suitable tool, you can remove deposits of material and sharpen the blade. In the end, it is
recommended to moisten the surface you have treated with a little oil or other lubricant.
