2. Insert the battery into the left or right battery
compartment.
The charging process begins and the LED for
the selected battery compartment flashes.
3. Monitor the LED of the battery compartment.
When the LED lights up permanently, the
charging process is complete. Charging dura-
tion for the rechargeable battery: see "Tech-
nical data".
4. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket.
5. Press and hold the Unlocking button on the
battery.
6. Remove the rechargeable battery from the
charger.
5.2
Displaying the charge status
The rechargeable battery displays its charge sta-
tus on the LEDs (01/1, 01/2).

chargeable battery is fully charged.
LED (01/1, 01/2) flashes green: Battery
is charging.
LED (01/1, 01/2) lights up red: There is
no rechargeable battery in the charger.
LED (01/1, 01/2) flashes red: Re-
chargeable battery is too hot and will
therefore not charge.
The AL-KO inTOUCH App provides a convenient
display of the charge status (see chapter 5.4 "Wi-
Fi radio module and AL-KO inTOUCH app",
page 16).
NOTE Temperature range for charging oper-
ation and charging time until it is fully charged:
see "Technical data". If the operating time of the
rechargeable battery is reduced in spite of it be-
ing fully charged, the rechargeable battery is at
the end of its service life and must be replaced by
a new original rechargeable battery.
5.3
Activating slow charging
1. Press the ECO button for approx. 1 second
to activate slow charging.

The ECO button (01/4) lights up continu-
ously green.
■
The charge speed is reduced from 3 A to
1.5 A.

WiFi radio module and AL-KO inTOUCH
app
The charger is equipped with a WiFi radio mod-
ule. This allows convenient monitoring via app
from a mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
The charger sends important information on the
operating conditions, e.g. battery 80% charged,
battery 100% charged, battery charged in 10 min-
utes. If two batteries are being charged at the
same time, each battery can have a different
charge status.
NOTE The mobile device needs an Internet
connection for the use of the app.
The AL-KO inTOUCH app can be downloaded for
Android-based devices from the Google Play
Store and for iOS-based devices from the Apple
App Store:
After installing the app, you first have to register
or log in. Follow the "step-by-step" instructions.
The app offers a variety of functions such as

Receipt of push notifications regarding the
charge status,
■
Setting an upper limit of maximum 60%
charging capacity for optimal storage of the
battery, e.g. over the winter,
■
Product registration.
NOTE Updates for the AL-KO inTOUCH app
are downloaded automatically via the Internet
(FOTA: Firmware update Over The Air).
5.5
Connecting the dual charger to the AL-
KO inTOUCH app
NOTE Information on WiFi.

In order to be able to use the AL-KO in-
TOUCH app, the dual charger must be within
range of your 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
■
Keep the name and password of your WiFi
network ready.
1. Prepare your smartphone:
■
Install the "AL-KO inTOUCH Smart Gar-
den" app.
■
Start the app.
2. In the app setup wizard:
■
Add a new device by tapping the "+" icon.
■
Scan the battery type plate.
