6. Troubleshooting
W hen an error occurs, the following screen will appear and the operation LED will blink .
Check the error status, stop the operation, and consult your dealer.
Error code, error unit, refrigerant address, unit model name, and serial number w ill appear.
Th e model name and serial number w ill appear only if th e information h as been registered.
Press th e [ F1] or [ F2] button to go to th e next page.

malfunction, etc. If the display of error information ashes, tell the dealer contents of the display (error code). Never attempt to repair by yourself.
The following symptoms are not air conditioner failures:
The air blo n out from the air conditioner can sometimes give off odors. This is
due to cigarette smoke contained in th e air of th e room, th e smell of cosmetics, th e
w alls, furniture, etc., absorbed in th e air conditioner.
A h issing noise can be h eard immediately after th e air conditioner is started or
stopped. This is the sound of the refrigeration o ing inside the air conditioner. This
is normal.

Cause
Pow er failure
Th e pow er supply is turned OFF.
Th e fuse in th e pow er supply is gone.
Th e earth leakage breaker is gone.
Improper temperature adj ustment
The filter is filled ith dust and dirt.
Th ere are some obstacles at th e air inlet
and outlet of th e indoor and outdoor units.
Window s and doors are open.
Th e restart-preventing circuit is in operation
for 3 minutes.
Indoor unit operation w as restarted during
th e h eating and defrosting operation.
Th ere are some obstacles at th e air inlet
and outlet of th e indoor and outdoor units.
The filter is filled ith dust and dirt.
Wh en oth er indoor units are engaged in
cooling operation, th e mach ine stops after
running a drain-up mech anism for 3 minutes
w h en air-cooling operation is stopped.
Wh en oth er indoor units are engaged in
cooling operation, drained w ater is brough t
in. If th e drain w ater is collected, th e drain-
up mech anism initiates a draining operation.
Wh en oth er indoor units are engaged in
h eating operation, th e control valves are
opened and closed from time to time to
maintain th e stability of th e system.
Th e air conditioner sometimes snaps or clicks at th e beginning or end of cooling/
h eating operation. Th is is th e sound of friction on th e front panel and oth er sections
due to expansion and contraction caused by temperature ch ange. Th is is normal.
Th e fan speed ch anges in spite of not ch anging th e setting. Not to blow out cold
air at th e beginning of h eating operation, th e air conditioner automatically adj usts
th e fan speed gradually from low er to th e set speed. It also adj ust its fan speed to
protect th e fan motor w h en return air temperature or fan speed excessively rises.
Troublesh ooting
Press th e [ ON/ OFF] button after pow er restoration.
Turn th e pow er supply ON.
Replace fuse.
Put in th e earth leakage breaker.
After ch ecking th e set temperature and inlet temperature on th e
liquid crystal display, refer to section 3.3 " Set temperature" , and
operate th e adj ustment button.
Clean up the filter.
(Refer to section 5 " Caring for th e mach ine" .)
Remove.
Close.
Wait for a w h ile.
(To protect th e compressor, a 3- minute restart-preventing
circuit is built into th e indoor unit. Th erefore, th ere are occasions
sometimes w h en th e compressor does not start running
immediately. Th ere are cases w h en it does not run for as long as
3 minutes.)
Wait for a w h ile.
(Heating operation starts after ending defrosting operation.)
Rerun after removal
Rerun after cleaning the filter. (Refer to section 5 Caring for the
mach ine" .)
Wait for 3 minutes.
It soon stops. (If th e noise occurs more th an 2-3 times in an h our,
ask for repair service.)
It soon stops. (If th e room temperature rises uncomfortably h igh
in a small room, stop operation.)
