7. Installation, transferring work s, and check ing
Regarding place for installation
Consult w ith your dealer for details on installation and transferring th e installation.
Caution:
Never install the air conditioner here there is a ris of lea age of flammable gas.
If gas lea s and accumulates around the unit, fire can result.
Never install the air conditioner at the following place:
• w h ere th ere is a lot of mach ine oil
• near th e ocean and beach areas w h ere th ere is salt air
• w h ere h umidity is h igh
• w h ere th ere are h ot springs nearby
• w h ere th ere is sulph urous gas
• w h ere th ere is a h igh -frequency processing mach inery (a h igh -frequency w elder,
etc.)
• w h ere acid solution is frequently used
• w h ere special sprays are frequently used
Install th e indoor unit h orizontally. Oth erw ise, w ater leakage can result.
Take sufficient measures against noise hen installing the air conditioners at hospitals
or communication-related businesses.
If th e air conditioner is used in any of th e above-mentioned environments, frequent
operational failure can be expected. It is advisable to avoid th ese types of installation
sites.

Regarding electrical work
Caution:
The electrical or must be underta en by a person ho is qualified as an

electrical engineer according to the [technical standard respecting electrical
installation], [internal wiring rules], and the installation instruction manual with
the absolute use of exclusive circuits. The use of other products with the power
source can result in burnt-out beak ers and fuses.
• Never connect the grounding wire to a gas pipe, water pipe, arrester, or
telephone grounding wire. For details, consult with your dealer.
• In some types of installation sites, the installation of an earth leak age break er
is mandatory. For details, consult with your dealer.
Regarding transfer of installation
• Wh en removing and reinstalling th e air conditioner w h en you enlarge your h ome,
remodel, or move, consult w ith your dealer in advance to ascertain th e cost of th e
professional engineering w ork required for transferring th e installation.

W hen moving or reinstalling the air conditioner, consult with your dealer.
Defective installation can result in electric shoc , fire, etc.
Regarding noise
• In installing w ork, ch oose a place th at can fully bear th e w eigh t of th e air
conditioner, and w h ere noise and vibration can be reduced.
• Ch oose a place w h ere cool or w arm air and noise from th e outdoor air outlet of th e
air conditioner does not inconvenience th e neigh bors.
• If any alien obj ect is placed near th e outdoor air outlet of th e air conditioner,
decreased performance and increased noise can result. Avoid placing any
obstacles adj acent to th e air outlet.
• If th e air conditioner produces any abnormal sound, consult w ith your dealer.
Maintenance and inspection
• If th e air conditioner is used th rough out several seasons, th e insides can get dirty,
reducing th e performance.
Depending upon th e conditions of usage, foul odors can be generated and drainage
can deteriorate due to dust and dirt, etc.
