•
Ensure the material to be sawn is
secured in place.
•
Apply only a gentle pressure to the tool
and do not exert side pressure on the
saw blade. If possible, work with the saw
shoe pressed against the work piece.
This prevents damage to the blade and
stops the tool from jerking and vibrating.
•
Avoid overloading.
•
Let the blade run freely for a few seconds
before starting the cut.
Prior to operation:
•
Make sure your battery pack is (fully) charged.
•
Make sure the guards have been mounted
correctly. The saw blade guard must be in closed
position.
•
Make sure the saw blade rotates in the direction of
the arrow on the blade.
•
Do not use excessively worn saw blades.
OPERATION
WARNING: Turn unit off and disconnect
battery pack before installing and removing
accessories, before adjusting or when making
repairs. Lock the trigger switch when the tool
is not in use and when storing the tool.
WARNING: Always wear proper personal
hearing protection. Under some conditions
and duration of use, noise from this product
may contribute to hearing loss.
Switching On and Off (fi g. A)
For safety reasons the on/off switch (1) of your tool is
equipped with a lock-off button (2).
•
Press the lock-off button to unlock the tool.
•
To run the tool, press the on/off switch (1). As soon
as the on/off switch is released the lockoff switch
is automatically activated to prevent unintended
starting of the machine.
CAUTION: Do not switch the tool ON or OFF
when the saw blade touches the work piece
or other materials.
Holding and Guiding the Tool (fi g. A)
•
Hold the tool by the main grip and the front handle
(3) to guide the saw properly.
•
For optimum results, clamp the work piece bottom
up.
•
Use the kerf indicator (12) to follow the line drawn
on the work piece. The kerf indicator lines up with
the left side of the saw blade when set to 50°bevel.
The kerf indicator lines up with the right side of the
saw blade when set to 0° bevel.
Dust Extraction (fi g. A)
Your tool is fi tted with a dust extraction outlet (5).
•
Always use a vacuum extractor designed in
compliance with the applicable Directives regarding
dust emission when sawing wood. Vacuum hoses
of most common vacuum cleaners will fi t directly
into the dust extraction spout.
WARNING: Do not use a vacuum extractor
without proper spark protection when sawing
metal.
MAINTENANCE
Your BTI power tool has been designed to operate over
a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper
tool care and regular cleaning.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, turn tool off and
disconnect battery pack before making
any adjustments or removing/ installing
attachments or accessories. An accidental
start-up can cause injury.
The charger is not serviceable. There are no
serviceable parts inside the charger.
Lubrication
This tool requires no lubrication.
Cleaning
WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of the main
housing with dry air as often as dirt is seen
collecting in and around the air vents. Wear
approved eye protection and approved dust
mask when performing this procedure.
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh
chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts
of the tool. These chemicals may weaken the
materials used in these parts. Use a cloth
dampened only with water and mild soap.
Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never
immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
