Programming the user code
The door must be open and the bolts must be retracted inside the door.
Press the ENTER button.
Enter a new user code (it must be between 3 to 6 digits max.) and
confirm with the ENTER button. You will hear 2 short beeps to confirm.
Press the CLOSE button.
The locking bolts will extend out. A new user code has been successfully
programmed.
Incorrect entries
If an incorrect code or fingerprint entry is made when the safe is locked/closed
the display will show "CODE-ERROR" and you will hear 3 short beeps. A third
successive incorrect code or fingerprint entry will result in the electronic lock
blocking any further entries for 5 minutes. After this blocking time, the safe can
be opened with the admin code, the correct user code or a valid fingerprint.
If a wrong digit is entered during code entry, it can be cleared by pressing the
CLOSE button.
Opening the safe with the admin code
Press the ENTER button.
Enter the 8-digit admin code (factory default code: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8).
and confirm with ENTER button.
The display shows „PASS 1" and counts down for 10 seconds.
After this time has elapsed, the door will open automatically.
Caution: When the admin code is entered, the last programmed user code is
shown on the display briefly and then deleted. The user code must now be
re-programmed (see „Programming the user code").
Programming the admin code
The safe door must be open with the bolts extended out of the door.
Press the ENTER button
Enter the admin code (factory default code: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8) and confirm
with ENTER button
The display shows „PASS 1" and counts down for 10 seconds. Within this
time, press the ENTER button again
Now enter the new admin code (8 digits) and confirm by pressing ENTER
„REPEAT" will appear on the display
Enter the new admin code a second time and confirm with ENTER.
The new admin code is saved when you see „GOOD" shown on the display
You will also hear 2 short beeps to confirm
A new admin code has been successfully programmed.

Chapter 2: Operating in hotel mode
Features of hotel mode & programming
To programme the safe into „hotel mode" the admin code must be entered with
the safe door open and the bolts extended out.
Press the ENTER button.
Enter the 8-digit admin code (factory default code: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8)
and confirm with ENTER button.
The display shows „PASS 1" and counts down for 10 seconds. Within this
time, press the ENTER button again.
Enter the code „16805" and confirm the change with ENTER button.
„SET-05" appears on the display. You will hear 2 short beeps to confirm.
Setting hotel mode was successful. If the door of the safe remains open for
more than 5 minutes the user code is automatically deleted and must be repro-
grammed by the next guest.
To programme the safe back to normal operation mode, proceed using the
instructions as outlined above but use the code „16800" where appropriate.
„SET-00" appears in the display to confirm the safe is now back in normal
operating mode. In normal operation the user code will remain even when
the door is left open indefinitely.

Use the emergency key to access the safe.
Changing the batteries
A warning message „LOW BATT" is shown on the electronic lock display when
the batteries are nearly exhausted and need replacing. Please change as soon
as possible.
Open/unlock the safe.
The battery compartment is located on the inside
of the door.
Remove the screw on the battery compartment
cover with a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove and discard the batteries according to the
disposal instructions (see right).
Replace the 4 x AA Mignon LR 6 Alkaline with new
ones. Be sure to insert the batteries in the correct
direction as per the drawings. Please use high
quality batteries and not rechargeable ones.
Replace the battery compartment cover and
tighten the cover screw.
Warranty
BURG-WÄCHTER products comply with the technical standards in force at the
time of production and adhere to our own quality standards. The guarantee
only covers defects which can be proved to have resulted from production or
material defects at the time of purchase. The warranty ends after two years from
the date of purchase, further claims are excluded. Defects and damage caused
by e.g. transport, incorrect operation, improper use, wear etc. are excluded
from the warranty. The batteries are not included in the guarantee. A short
description of any defects identified must be made in writing and the device
returned to the place it was purchased, together with the purchase receipt.
After the device has been tested, and within a appropriate period of time, the
guarantor will decide whether or not to repair or exchange the item.
Note:
In order to deliver a flawless and high quality product to you and to better
assist you in case of service or repair, it is necessary that faulty or defective
devices along with the valid administrator code be presented to your dealer
together with the purchase receipt.
For returns, all undamaged device parts must furthermore be in the factory
setting due to your right of revocation. Failure to comply with this will invalidate
the warranty.
Disposal of the device
Please help us avoid unnecessary waste. Should you intend to dispose of
this device at any time, please remember that many components of this
device contain valuable materials that can be recycled.
Please be aware that electrical and electronic equipment and
batteries marked in this way must not be disposed of with
household waste but collected separately. Please obtain
information on the collecting points for electrical waste from the
responsible authority of your city/municipality.

Safety recommendation
Please clean the keyboard operating surface periodically with a microfibre
cloth (e.g. glasses cleaning cloth for spectacles) to remove any fingerprints
on the keyboard surface.
