2. Description of the communication
It is possible for the Ingeteam inverters to establish remote communication via the GSM/GPRS network with a PC
using the corresponding accessories.
2.1. Overview
Remote communication is understood to be that which is done with one or more INGECON units from a remote
PC. The PC shall be responsible for supervising and configuring the units. Similarly, when there is no remote
communication, communication may be established with the units using a locally placed PC. Interconnected units
that are connected to the modem will be behave like a slave.

A. INGECON unit with GPRS/RS-485 modem
B. INGECON unit connected to the RS-485 bus
C. INGECON unit connected to the RS-485 bus (end of line)

In the typical GPRS communication algorithm, one of the units is equipped with a GPRS modem and it is accessed
from a remote PC.
The bus is accessed from the modem, which is responsible for transmitting the orders to and from the remote PC.
