NOTE: If stored in a metal or non-ventilated shed, be sure to protect the equipment from rust by
coating it with a light oil or silicone.
7. PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Most problems are easy to solve. Refer to the Troubleshooting Chart below for common problems and
their solutions. If you continue to experience problems, please contact the dealers in your area.
WARNING:
Before performing any maintenance or inspection procedures, stop the engine, wait five minutes to allow
all parts to cool. Disconnect the spark plug wire, keeping it away from the spark plug.
Problema
Engine will not start
Engine runs erratically
Engine overheats
Cylinder rod does not
move.

Possible cause
1. Spark plug wire disconnected.
2. Empty fuel tank or stale fuel.
3. Fuel shut-off valve closed.
4. Throttle control lever is not in the correct
starting position.
5. Choke not in throttle position.
6. Engine not primed correctly.
7. Fuel line clogged.
8. Defective spark plug.
1. Spark plug wire loose.
2. Unit running with choke.
3. Fuel line clogged or fuel stale.
4. Water or dirt in fuel system.
5. Dirty air filter.
6. Carburettor out of adjustment.
1. Engine oil level low.
2. Dirty air filter.
3. Carburettor incorrectly adjusted.
1. Broken drive shaft.
2. Shipping plugs left in hydraulic hoses.
3. Coupling fixing bolt incorrectly tightened.
4. Shaft coupling loose.
5. Damaged gear sections.
6. Damaged relief valve.
7. Hydraulic lines blocked.
8. Incorrect oil level.
9. Damaged directional control valve.
10. Directional control valve blocked.
Solution
1. Connect the wire to the spark plug.
2. Fill the tank with clean, fresh petrol.
3. Turn the valve to the ON position.
4. Move the throttle lever to the fast position.
5. Move the choke to the choke position.
6. Prime the engine.
7. Clean the fuel line.
8. Clean, adjust clearance, or replace.
1. Connect and tighten the spark plug wire.
2. Move the choke lever to the Off position.
3. Clean the fuel line, fill the fuel tank with
clean, fresh fuel.
4. Empty the fuel tank. Refill with fresh fuel.
5. Clean or replace the air filter.
6. Consult an authorised service agent.
1. Fill the crankcase with the appropriate oil.
2. Clean or replace the air filter.
3. Have the engine serviced by an authorised
service agent.
1. Contact an authorised service centre.
2. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses, remove
the shipping plugs, reconnect the hoses.
3. Refer to the operator's manual for correct
adjustment.
4. Correct motor/pump alignment as
necessary.
5. Consult authorized service technician.
6. Consult authorised service agent.
7. Flush and clean the hydraulic system.
8. Check the oil level.
9. Refer to an authorised service agent.
10. Flush and clean the hydraulic system.
