1) How do you select eggs before hatching?
a) Hatching eggs must be fresh, not put in the fridge or washed with water, and the best fertilised
eggs are within 4-7 days after laying.
b) The large round end of the egg must face upwards and the small end must face downwards when
the eggs are placed in the hatching machine.
2) What are the hatching precautions?
a) Please handle correctly and observe carefully throughout the incubation process.
Check the water level in the egg incubator regularly. We recommend filling with warm water once
every 3 days or so, but this depends on the actual environment and the amount of water in the
unit.
b) If the room temperature is below 20°C/68°F, cover the unit with foam packing to keep it warm.
c)
Do not open the cover frequently throughout the incubation process, otherwise the unbroken
eggshell will dry out and not be broken.
d) Check the development of the eggs during incubation:
Testing eggs for the first time (day 5-6): Mainly checks fertilisation of hatching eggs and selects
unfertilised eggs, eggs with loose yolk and eggs with dead sperm.
Second check eggs (days 11-12): Mainly check the development of the embryos of the eggs. Well-
developed embryos become larger, blood vessels are throughout the egg and air cells are large
and well defined.
Third testing eggs (day 16-17): Aim at a light source with a small head, the embryo in a well-
developed egg is filled with embryos and cannot see the light in most places; if it is a stillbirth, the
blood vessels in the egg are blurred and invisible, the part near the air chamber turns yellow and
the boundary between the egg contents and the air chamber is not obvious.
e) Hatching period (day 19-21): The hatching period has started when cracks appear on the eggshell,
in the meantime the humidity should be increased to make the eggshell soft enough for the
chicks to break it, and ideally the temperature should be lowered to 37-37.5°C /98-99°F.
3) How better to maintain the unit after hatching?
After use, the unit should be cleaned and air-dried so that the moisture left inside the unit does not
damage the electronic components and affect use.
3.4.
Cleaning and maintenance
a)
Unplug the mains plug and allow the device to cool completely before each cleaning, adjustment or
replacement of accessories, or if the device is not being used.
b)
Use only non-corrosive cleaners to clean the surface.
c)
After cleaning the device, all parts should be dried completely before using it again.
d)
Store the unit in a dry, cool place, free from moisture and direct exposure to sunlight.
e)
Do not spray the device with a water jet or submerge it in water.
f)
Do not allow water to get inside the device through vents in the housing of the device.
g)
Clean the vents with a brush and compressed air.
h)
The device must be regularly inspected to check its technical efficiency and spot any damage.
i)
Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
j)
Do not use sharp and/or metal objects for cleaning (e.g. a wire brush or a metal spatula) because they
may damage the surface material of the appliance.
k)
Do not clean the device with an acidic substance, agents of medical purposes, thinners, fuel, oils or
other chemical substances because it may damage the device.
