General provisions
1.1
Safety
The pump is state-of-the-art technology and com-
plies with approved technical safety regulations.
Each pump is tested for functionality and safety
before dispatch.
The pump is safe to operate when used correctly.
Incorrect operation or misuse poses a risk to:
•
the health of the operator
•
property
•
the environment
The pump may only be used in a technically
flawless condition in the version supplied by the
manufacturer.
For safety reasons, it is not permitted to modify
the pump (except for fitting accessories from the
manufacturer), dismantle the parts or open the
housing.
Ensure that:
•
you understand all the safety instructions,
•
the operator is provided with the instructions
and understands them,
•
that the operating instructions are available to
all users.
1.1.1
Maintenance and monitoring
The pump must be checked regularly to ensure
that it is in a safe condition, in particular:
•
a visual inspection for damage
•
functional testing
•
inspections in accordance with the maintenance
plan (see Chapter 9).
1.1.2
Using original parts
Please only use original parts provided by the
manufacturer or parts they have recommended.
Also take note of all safety and usage information
provided with these parts. This applies to:
•
accessory parts.
1.1.3
Operation/maintenance of the pump
In order to avoid hazards, all persons entrusted
with the commissioning, operation, maintenance
and servicing of the pump must
•
be appropriately qualified,
•
read these instructions carefully,
•
be authorised to use the pump,
•
comply with the applicable rules relating to work
safety.
Important:
Risk of injury when pumping liquids
hazardous to health (burns, poisoning
etc.) Check the safety data sheet for the
pumping medium in question.
If the user might come into contact with
the pumping medium, they must wear
suitable protective clothing (eye protec-
tion, hand protection, respiratory protec-
tion etc.).
Important:
Possible environmental pollution and
property damage due to pumping me-
dium escaping from the pump (due to a
leak or incorrect operation). If liquid leaks
out during the dispensing process, clean
it up immediately with a suitable absorb-
ing agent and dispose of it in accordance
with regulations.
