REMOVAL OF USED APPLIANCE
Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) requires that used appliances are not disposed of using regular
municipal waste. Old appliances should be collected separately to optimize
material recovery and recycling and reduce the impact on human health and the
environment. The trash bin symbol is used on all products to remind users of the
obligations for selective collection. Consumers should contact local authorities or
their distributor to inquire about the steps to take for the disposal of their old
appliance. If dismantling old appliances, make sure to render any potentially
hazardous components unusable.
