2.3 SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS
1. WARNING! Do not use the machine for uses other than those for
which it was designed.
2. Ensure that the water level reaches the indicated level before
starting and during any cutting operation.
3. Replace the tank water periodically. Working with clean water
lengthens the life of the blade and improves its performance.
4. Remove the adjustment blade wrench and tools before starting
the machine.
5. When unpacking the machine, and also after each use, check for
dents or deformations and broken parts and cords. If any of these are
found, do not use the tool and contact the manufacturer immediately.
6. Keep hands away from the cutting area and blade at all times.
7. Always use blades with interior diameters that correspond to the
machine's shaft. A larger interior diameter would cause the cutter to
rotate eccentrically, leading to a loss of control.
8. Never use fastening nuts or plates from damaged or incorrect
blades. These parts were designed specifically for this cutter, to
provide better functioning and safety during operation.
9. Do not use damaged or dull blades.
10. Use only the recommended blades, suitable for RPMs that are
greater than or equal to the maximum RPM of the machine and with
holes for the proper shaft.
11. Position the blade plates correctly and tighten the nut properly
before starting the machine.
12. Verify that the blade has no cracks or other damage before
operation. Immediately replace damaged blades. Do a functional test
with no load for at least 30 seconds before using the cutter.
13. Never start the machine with the piece being cut in contact
with the blade.
14. Allow the motor to reach its maximum speed before cutting.
15. ATTENTION! after completing the cut, turn off the switch and wait
for the blade to stop completely before setting the cutter down.
16. Always switch off the cutter before disconnecting it, to prevent an
accidental start-up when reconnecting it to the power source.
17. Only use the machine for cutting ceramic, porcelain, glass, and
natural stone.
18. Turn off the machine immediately if you notice any unusual
vibration or any other malfunction. Check the machine to
determine the cause.
19. Pay attention to the dimension of the blades. The center hole in
the blade must fit on the shaft with no free play. If not, use a different
blade with a proper fit.
20. ATTENTION! Keep clear the area behind the saw and don't allow
anybody to stay behind the saw while working.
21. ATTENTION! check integrity of table stroke limiters after any
unexpected impact.

A. POSITION OF THE TILE SAW
1. To prevent the socket or plug from becoming wet, position the tile
saw on one side of the wall-mounted socket to avoid water dripping on
the socket. The user must put a drip loop in the cable that connects
the saw to a connector.
14
The drip loop should be used to keep part of the cable below the
12
socket level, or connector level. If an extension cable is used, add a
--
drip loop and the cable connection to prevent the water travelling
along the cable and coming into contact with the connection
and socket.
2. If the socket or connection is wet, DO NOT unplug the cable.
Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the tool.
Then unplug and check for the presence of water in the socket.
B. EXTENSION CABLES
1. Only use extension cables designed for outdoor use. These
extension cables are identified with a "Suitable for use with outdoor
electrical equipment" label. Store indoors when not in use. Only
use extension cables that have an electrical classification that is
not less than the classification of the tool. Do not use damaged
extension cables. Inspect the extension cable before use and replace
if damaged. Do not misuse the extension cables and do not pull a
cable to disconnect it. Keep the cable away from heat and sharp
edges. Always disconnect the extension cable from the socket before
disconnecting the saw from the extension cable.
2. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrocution, keep all connections
dry and off the ground. Do not touch the socket with wet hands.
3. A ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) must be provided with the
sockets that are going to be used for the tile saw. Sockets are available
with incorporated GFCI and can be used for this safety measure.
3. GROUND CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS
All tools must be connected to ground (Picture 1):
In case of malfunction or fault, the ground connection provides a path
of least resistance for the electrical current in order to reduce the
risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped with an electrical cable for
connecting the equipment to ground and a grounded plug. The plug
must be plugged into a corresponding power outlet that is correctly
installed and connected to ground in accordance with all the local
codes and ordinances.
Do not modify the plug provided. If it does not fit the power outlet, get
a qualified electrician to install a suitable power outlet.
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can
result in a risk of electric shock. The conductor with insulation having
an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the
equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the
electric cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-
grounding conductor to a live terminal.
Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if you do not
fully understand the ground connection instructions, or if you have
any doubts whether the tool is correctly connected to ground.
Immediately repair or replace a damaged or worn cable.
This saw is designed for use in a 120 V nominal circuit and has a
grounded plug. Only connect the saw to a power outlet that has
the same configuration as the plug. Do not use an adapter with
this product.
