Panel information
1 POWER Switch
Depress this switch to turn on the unit's power; depress it again to turn
off the power.
2 PHONES Jack
This is the jack for the headphones. Connect the plug on the stereo head-
phones for private listening.
Adjust
the volume so that it does not hurt your ears when
using the
headphones.
3 Tone Controls (BASS/TREBLE)
These controls adjust the sound quality: the BASS control adjusts the
low (bass) sound and the TREBLE control the high (treble) sound. The
effect in both cases is increased when the controls are rotated clockwise
from the ''0" position and reduced when rotated counterclockwise. The
frequency response is flat at the "O'' position. Use the controls to com-
pensate for changes in the sound quality caused by the acoustics of the
listening room
or the characteristics of the speakers and to adjust the
sound to your personal preference.

LOUDNESS Switch
The human ear is such that the bass and treble response drop off and are
hard to hear when
the volume
is reduced. Under low-volume conditions,
the sound
appears
to have little substance but when
the LOUDNESS
switch is depressed to the ON position, the bass and treble are emphasized
to give a more balanced effect. The frequency response is made flat when
the switch is released to the OFF position.
6 VOLUME
Control
This contro!
adjusts the volume
of the speakers or headphones. The
sound is increased as it is rotated clockwise. Listen to music and set it to
a comfortable listening level.
The front control is for the left (L) channel and the rear control is for the
right (R) channel.
By rotating each control separately, it is possible to
achieve a balance in the left and right channel sound.
7 MIC Jack
The microphone is plugged in here. Remember to disconnect the micro-
phone when it is not being used.
8 MIC MIXING Control
This control
is used to adjust the input level (level of the sound mixed
with the program
source) of the microphone.
The level is increased as
this control
is rotated
clockwise.
Normally, it is kept at its leftmost posi-
tion.
