4. MACHINE CHARACTERISTICS
The NOMAD BIT machine is a small but highly precise cut-
ting machine for copying single- and double-bladed mortice
keys and forward-cut keys.
It has one three-sided clamp.

The NOMAD BIT machine can copy the following types of
keys:
Male or female single- or double-bladed mortice keys
Forward-cut keys
Flat or locker keys

4.3 MAIN PARTS OF THE MACHINE
The main parts of the machine are described below:
See Figures 2A and 2B
1. Cutter: Made from high-speed steel (HSS).
2. Tracer: Specifically designed to read the key coding.
3. Clamps: The clamps can be rotated to one of three sides.
The various keys that can be secured in each side are explai-
ned in a separate section of this manual.
4. Clamp handle: For ergonomic and safe opening and clo-
sing of the clamps.
5. Clamp carriage assembly: Option to enable or disable
clamp rotation.
6. Rounded tip handle: Clamp rotation can be enabled by
pulling this outwards. Simply push the handle inwards to
disable clamp rotation.
7. & 8. Rotation lever and carriage assembly motion control
lever.
