WARNING

Symptom
Toast too light.
Toast too dark.
Unit not working at all.
Unit toasts on one side only.
Toaster trips the circuit breaker
or GFCI.
Toaster conveyor doesn't move.

Extended Toast Feed Ramps
Extended and XL Extended toast feed ramps are available as
factory-installed options for TQ3-20 toasters. An extended toast
feed ramp is a longer ramp that allows more or longer bread
products to be loaded onto the ramp.

Probable Cause
Color Control knob set on a light setting.
Unit not warmed up. The toaster needs time to
heat up when initially turned on.
Supply voltage to unit is low.
Color Control knob set on a dark setting.
Supply voltage to unit is high.
Unit not plugged in.
Unit tripped circuit breaker or GFCI.
High limit switch tripped and warning light
illuminated.
The toaster is in "Bun" mode (one-sided
toasting).
Heating element defective.
Circuit breaker is not sized properly for the toaster. Check circuit breaker for proper sizing.
Wiring fault inside toaster.
Bread slices or buns jammed in conveyor track.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD: Turn off power switch,
unplug power cord, and allow unit to cool before
performing any cleaning, adjustments, maintenance, or
attempting to clear a jam.
Turn Color Control knob to a darker setting.
Allow approximately 15 to 20 minutes for the unit to
warm up.
Verify the supply voltage to the toaster matches the unit
specifications.
Turn Color Control knob to a lighter setting.
Verify the supply voltage to the toaster matches the unit
specifications.
Plug unit into proper power supply.
Check/reset the circuit breaker or GFCI.
Check for the following:
1. Make sure hot air from other sources is directed away
from the front of the unit.
2. Make sure the fan filter is clean.
Turn off unit, allow to cool, and restart unit. If problem
continues, contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco for
assistance.
Press the
key for "Bread" mode (two-sided toasting).
If the element does not glow, contact Authorized Service
Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Turn off unit, wait for unit to cool, and remove bread
product jamming the conveyor.
OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES
Toast Tray Insert
A removable, stainless steel toast
tray insert is available for TQ3-20
toasters. The toast tray insert fits
inside the toast tray and is easily
removable for cleaning.
