Recording the A. TIME
(absolute time)
During recording, the tape running time from the
beginning of the tape (A.TIME) is automatically
recorded ona DAT cassette tape. Using this code,
you can search for the desired position of the tape
accurately and easily.
Mute recorded portions and non-recorded
portions (blanks)
On an analog cassette tape, the tape search
operations work by detecting every portion of a
tape on which the recorded signal level is very low
for 4 seconds or more.
Contrarily, on a DAT cassette tape, the sub-code
signals on the tape are used for the tape search
operations. Since the sub-code
signals are
continuously recorded even if the recorded audio
signal levelislow, the DAT deck makes a distinction
between mute recorded portions and non-recorded
portions.
EX Mute recorded portion: Recording has been
performed
and the sub-code
signals and
A.TIME signal are recorded.
El Non-recorded portion: No recording has been
performed. Sub-code signals and A.TIME are
not recorded.
Locating the Recording Start
Point
To avoid
non-recorded
portions and keep
continuous A.TIME, operate as follows before
recording. Tape search operations may not work
correctly using a tape with non-recorded portions
in the middie.
When recording from the beginning of
anewtape:
Rewind the tape to the beginning.
When recording from the end of the prerecorded
portion on a new tape:
Locate the end of the
recording using the end search function (page
27).
When recording over the prerecorded tape: Locate
the desired recording start point observing the
A.TIME indication or playback sound.

(A.TIME)
Durante la grabacion, el tiempo de recorrido desde
elcomienzo de lacinta (A. TIME: tiempo absoluto)
se registrara automaticamente. Empleando este
cédigo, usted podra buscar facil y precisamente
mas tarde la posicién deseada de la cinta.
Partes con grabacion silenciada y partes sin
grabar (espacios en blanco)
En un casete de cinta analégica, las operaciones
de busqueda de fa cinta trabajan detectando
cualquier parte de la misma en el que el nivel de
la sefial grabada sea muy bajo durante 4 o mas
segundos.
Por elcontrario, en un casete de cinta audiodigital,
para las operaciones de busqueda de la cinta se
emplean sefales de subcddigo. Comolas sefales
de subcddigo se graban continuamente incluso
aunque el nive! de ta audiosefal sea bajo, el
magnetdfono de cinta audiodigital realiza una
distinci6n entre las partes grabadas silenciadas y
las partes no grabadas.

ha realizado y se han registrado las senales
de subcddigo y la sefal A. TIME.

Las sefiales de subcddigo y la

Localizacion del punto de inicio
de la grabacion
Para evitar que queden
partes sin grabar y
mantener el tiempo absoluto (A. TIME) continuo,
realice lo siguiente antes de la grabacién.
Las
operaciones de busqueda de la cinta pueden no
trabajar correctamente si emplea una cinta con
partes sin grabar en medio.
Para grabar desde el comienzo de una cinta
nueva:
Rebobine la cinta hasta el comienzo.
Para grabar desde elfinal de unacinta previamente
grabada de una cinta nueva:
Localice el final de
la grabacién empleando la funcién de busqueda
de fin (pagina 27).
Para grabar en una cinta previamente grabada:
Localice el punto de iniciode la grabacién deseado
observando Ia indicaci6n A. TIME o escuchando
el sonido reproducido.
