3.2) Compression - standard mode (set)
The tool is able to detect the size of the connector and proceed with the cor-
rect compression.
Procedure:
X Fully insert the conductor into the connector (Fig. 4a).
X Hold the connector against the upper die (5).
X Press the operating button (3) twice in quick succession
(within 1 sec.) (Fig. 5) and hold it down until the engine
automatically switches off: the ram advances progressively
bringing the indentor (6) into contact with the connector
until the correct compression is achieved (OK).
X After the motor has stopped automatically, release the but-
ton (3) to automatically return the ram to its initial position.
X Remove the compressed connector. Open the head if
necessary (Fig. 6).
NOTE: The operator can follow the progress of the procedure
in real time on the display.
CORRECT COMPRESSION:
Always press and hold the button (3) until the motor automatically switches off to complete
the ram stroke.
Incomplete or incorrect compression can, over time, lead to the connection overheating
and possible fire.
Use the correct cable-connector combinations, improper combinations may be incorrectly
crimped.
"ERROR" MESSAGE:
Together with an acoustic signal and blinking LEDs, it indicates an
incorrect compression procedure due to an early interruption of the
compression cycle. The release button (7) was pressed, however, the
indentor was already in contact with the connector with increased
oil pressure.
In this case, it is only possible to continue with the compression in progress (same connec-
tor) if the target symbol is still present on the display
Otherwise, if the connector has already been deformed by the indentor and the target
symbol is not present, it is not possible to proceed with the same connector but compres-
sion with another connector needs to be repeated.
