Flame Setup – Create New Flame Setting - Follow the steps below to create a new Flame Setting
1. Ensure that the gas and fuel inlet and outlet ball valves are in the open
position to allow gas flow.
2. Press Create New to open the Flame Setup detail screen.
3. Select Gas Type. NOTE: This value must be set prior to starting gas flow
4. Optional – set the unit format (Imperial or Metric) based upon desired flow
units and chemistry calculations
5. Turn the Fuel dial clockwise to start the flow of the fuel gas. NOTE: Fuel
flow rate display will automatically adjust as the dial is turned
6. Ignite the torch. Turn the Oxygen dial clockwise to start the oxygen flow.
NOTE: Oxygen flow rate display will automatically adjust as the dial is
turned
7. Continue changing fuel and oxygen flow rates until the desired ratio is
achieved. The Flame Type will display based upon the ratio as either
Carburizing, Oxidizing (YELLOW), or Neutral (GREEN).
8. To reset all fields on the screen back to the original state, press Reset
Fields.
9. Once the desired ratio is achieved, press Save. The torch will shut off
automatically. NOTE: Ensure that torch and tip selected are suitable to
handle the flow rate.
10. Provide a name for the Flame Setting and press Enter. The system will
return to the Flame Setup screen. NOTE: Flame Setting names must be
unique.
