b) Use special care when working corners,
sharp edges etc. Avoid bouncing and
snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp
edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag
the rotating accessory and cause loss of
control or kickback.
c) Do not attach a toothed saw blade. Such
blades create frequent kickback and loss of
control.
d) Always feed the bit into the material in
the same direction as the cutting edge
is exiting from the material (which is the
same direction as the chips are thrown).
Feeding the tool in the wrong direction cau-
ses the cutting edge of the bit to climb out
of the work and pull the tool in the direction
of this feed.
e) When using rotary files, cut-off wheels,
high-speed cutters or tungsten carbide
cutters, always have the work securely
clamped. These wheels will grab if they be-
come slightly canted in the groove, and can
kickback. When a cut-off wheel grabs, the
wheel itself usually breaks. When a rotary
fi le, high-speed cutter or tungsten carbide
cutter grabs, it may jump from the groove
and you could lose control of the tool.
Safety Warnings Specific for Polishing:
a) Loose parts on the polishing guard,
especially the fastening cords, are not
permitted. Tuck away or shorten the
fastening cords. Loose, spinning fastening
cords may make contact with your fi ngers
or become caught in the workpiece.
Special safety guidelines on sanding:
a) Do not use any overdimensioned san-
ding disc papers, but comply with
manufacturer's specifications on san-
ding paper size. Sanding papers that ex-
tend beyond the grinding disc can cause
injuries as well as lead to binding, tearing
of the sanding discs or recoil.

Use and handling of battery-powered tool
a) Batteries should only be charged with
the chargers recommended by the ma-
nufacturer. A charger suitable for a certain
type of battery poses a fi re hazard if used
with other batteries.
b) Use only the designated batteries in the
power tools. The use of other batteries can
cause injuries and pose a fi re hazard.
c) Keep unused batteries away from pa-
per clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and
other small metal objects which could
bridge the contacts. A short-circuit bet-
ween the battery contacts can cause burns
or fi re.
d) If used incorrectly, the battery can leak
fluids. Avoid contact. In the event of in-
cidental contact, rinse with water. If the
fluid gets into your eyes, seek medical
assistance. Leaking battery fl uids can
cause skin irritations or burns.
e) Do not use a damaged or modified bat-
tery. Damaged or modifi ed batteries can
behave unpredictably and cause fi res, ex-
plosions or injuries.
f) Never expose a battery to fire or exces-
sive temperatures. Fire or temperatures
above 130°C can cause an explosion.
g) Observe all charging instructions and
never charge the battery or battery-pow-
ered tool outside the temperature range
specified by the operating instructions.
Incorrect charging or charging outside the
approved temperature range can destroy
the battery and increase the risk of fi re.
Service
a) Have your power tool repaired only by
qualified specialists and use only origi-
nal spare parts. This ensures that the pow-
er tool remains safe to operate.
b) Never service damaged batteries. All
maintenance work on batteries should only
