IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION:
• Pet care bulb for use with Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates
only!
• This UVB Bulb should be positioned at a minimum distance of 8"
or 20cm from the animal.
• Do not stare into this light source, just like you would not stare
into direct sunlight.
WARNING: UV emitted from this lamp. Avoid exposure of eye and
skin to unshielded lamp. RG3 lamp. Skin and eye injury could
result.
UV (Ultraviolet) light is a necessity in maintaining healthy reptiles and
amphibians, but it also comes with potential risks. Here are some
warnings to consider when using UV light in Terrariums:
1. Always make sure to position the TerraSky UV safely above the
terrarium screen mesh or inside the terrarium, to prevent you from
direct exposure to UV light.
2. Make sure that the beam alignment is directed downward and
not to the sides, to prevent your animals from staring directly into
the UV light.
3. Avoid Direct Exposure: Do not look directly into this light source,
just like you would not stare into direct sunlight. Prolonged
exposure to intense ultraviolet (UV) light, can be harmful to
your eyes and may lead to eye fatigue and other potential eye
problems.
4. Position the TerraSky UV fixture in such a way that there's always
a glass barrier between you and the light source, to prevent you
from direct exposure to UV light.
5. WARNING: To avoid exposure to the UV rays, always shut off or

unplug the light source when opening the terrarium doors for
feeding, watering or performing maintenance of any kind.
WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should
be observed when handling the Exo Terra
Terrarium Light, including the following:
1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS and all important
notices on the appliance before using. Failure to do so may result in
damage to the unit.
2. DANGER – To avoid possible electrical shock, special care should
be taken. For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs
yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for
service or discard the appliance:
A. The power supply voltage must be the same as the voltage
rated on the product. If the supply voltage does not match the
voltage mentioned on the rating label, please do not use the
product!
B. Do not operate the appliance if it has a damaged electrical cord
or power adaptor, or if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or
damaged in any manner.
C. The appliance is only to be used with the power supply unit
provided with the appliance. The appliance must only be supplied
at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the
appliance.
D. To avoid the possibility of the appliance, plug or electrical
socket getting wet, position the unit to one side of a wall-
mounted socket to prevent water from dripping onto the
socket or plug. A "drip-loop" should be arranged. The "drip
loop" is that part of the cord below the level of the socket, or
the connector if an extension cord is used, to prevent water

from traveling along the cord and coming into contact with the
socket. If the plug or socket does get wet, DO NOT unplug the
cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power
to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for the presence of
water in the socket.
E. CAUTION – Always unplug or disconnect the appliance from
the outlet before putting on or taking off parts and while the
equipment is being installed, maintained or handled. Never yank
the cord to pull the power adaptor from the outlet. Grasp the plug
and pull to disconnect. Always unplug an appliance from an outlet
when not in use. Never lift this product by the supply cord.
F. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children without supervision.
G. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use. The
use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance
manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
H. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to
weather or to temperatures below freezing. Do not expose the unit
to direct sunlight.
I. If an extension cord is necessary, ensure the connection is
watertight and dust proof. A cord with a proper rating should be
used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance
rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so
that it will not be tripped over or pulled. The connection should be
carried out by a qualified electrical installer.
J. This appliance is FOR INDOOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY, NOT for
commercial use.

Only the faithful observation of these installation, electrical and
maintenance guidelines will ensure the safe and efficient use of
this appliance.
INSTALLATION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Ensuring a "UV gradient" in the terrarium is paramount, with the
basking side receiving the highest UV-B radiation and the coolest
end having the lowest UV-B exposure. Achieving this can be
effortlessly accomplished by strategically incorporating plants and
decorative elements to create shaded zones.
To support the efficient conversion of vitamin D3 and enhance
various metabolic processes, it is beneficial to ensure that UV light
exposure is complemented by an ample supply of infrared-A (NIR)
radiation. The most effective sources of infrared-A (NIR) radiation can
be found in Tungsten Halogen or standard Incandescent spot bulbs,
such as the Exo Terra Intense Basking Spot or Halogen Basking Spot.
This combination promotes optimal body temperature regulation and
overall well-being.
If desired, combine with Exo Terra's Infrared Basking Spot to create
a 24-hour cycle.
