Change of rubber seal, S-drive
Important! The rubber seal between the S-dri-
ve and engine bed should be changed after 7
years. Always inspect the rubber seal for splits,
aging and wear before each launching.
Since the rubber seal keeps sea water out of the
boat, it is important to do this inspection carefully.
Corroded screws should be replaced with new
ones.
1.
Remove the propeller and clean thoroughly.
Important! If the sacrifi cial anode is eroded to
50% or more, it should be replaced.
2.
Drain oil from the drive as in fi gure 1.
3.
Remove the drive from the engine as in fi gures 2-7.
Place a block under the engine so that it is stable
and does not tip when pulled forward. See fi g 5-6.
If it is possible to hang the engine in a block and
tackle, this is preferable.
120S, MS25S are fi tted with locking wires; refer to
fi g. 8.

Disassemble the upper and lower gear housing as
in fi gure 9. Choose A, B or C, depending on model.

Replace rubber seal, gasket and any O-rings. Clean
groove and mating surface carefully, refer to fi gure
10.

Reassemble the gear housing as in fi gure 9. The
120S has a slip clutch (1): begin by placing the slip
clutch on the upper transmission housing's vertical
axle; refer to fi gure 9A, B.
Important! The gasket (2) must be fi tted ex-
actly over the hole in the lower gear housing.
Please refer to fi gure 9.
All existing shims (3) must be in place before
reassembling the gear housing.
No form of grease, silicon or sealing com-
pound shall be used in groove (4).
The screws must be tightened twice in diagonal se-
quence as illustrated in fi g. 11. Tighten the fi rst time
to 10 Nm, and the second time to 25 Nm.
120S and MS25S have locking wires; refer to fi g. 11.

Mount the drive onto the engine and engine bed as
in fi gures 12-18.
Before clamping ring is fi tted, clean up and paint
with corrosion inhibitor. Check that the under side
is fl at, for effective sealing. If necessary, fi t a new
clamping ring and new screws. See fi gures 12.
To simplify fi tting the engine, the drive can be block-
ed up as in fi gure 13.
Engage reverse. Push the engine backwards while
at the same time turning the fl ywheel to the left and
right. Please refer to fi gure 14.

Fill the drive with oil as in fi gure 19.
9.
Glue the hull seal in place (5) as in fi gure 20.
Important! Use a high quality contact glue, in-
tended for plastics and rubber. Follow the glue
manufactures instructions on the packet care-
fully.
10.
Fit the propeller.
11.
When launching:
Check that the rubber seal does not leak and that
other parts that have been dismantled function sa-
tisfactorily.
