The crimped clevis must be in its shortest position, i.e. fully screwed in and
locked with the nut (see the crimped clevis technical description drawing
in the technical file). Remove the pin from the clevis assembly shaft so that
it can be removed. Next, fit the crimped clevis to the end piece and put the
shaft back in position through the clevis and the end piece. Put the safety
pin back on the shaft.

Remove the shackle from the wedge end fitting by removing the spilt
pin and the tightening screw. Introduce the cable into the FA 60 205 02
wedge end fitting. Apply thread lock and reinstall the tightening screw.
Insert the split pin and lock it. Take up the cable slack by hand. Adjust the
cable length so that at least 150 mm sticks out from the wedge end fitting
(dimension Y). Lastly, install the locking piece between the cable sticking
out of the wedge end fitting and the lifeline cable to prevent the cable from
sliding into the wedge end fitting.
FA 20 207 00
Dismantle the manual crimping piece and insert the rear part on the cable.
Next, mark the length of the brass piece on the cable and use sellotape
to prevent said cable from opening more than necessary during cable
unstranding. When using a 7x7 or 7x19 construction cable, only insert the
central core of the cable in the slot, and fold all strands. Note:the strands
must not stick out of the brass piece; ideally they should stop by the edge.
Next, reassemble the manual crimping piece. It is advisable to use thread
lock on the threaded part to secure crimping.
Place the lifeline under tension using the FA 60 203 00 tensioner by rotating the main
tensioner body using a shaft going through the hole until the last absorber coil touches
the absorber's tension indicator recess. The tensile force should then be of the order
of 80 to 100 daN.
When you have finished putting the system under tension, tighten up the 2 lock nuts
against the body of the tensioner to lock the assembly in place. Apply some thread
lock to the grub screws and screw them into the nuts. Fit one anti-tamper seal between
the main tensioner body hole and its clevis and another between the main tensioner
body hole and the seal ring (see drawing opposite).
