5.22 Removing the bonnet actuating lever,
left-hand drive vehicles
– Pull the securing clip -2- slightly away from the actuating lev-
er -1- -arrow A- using a small screwdriver.
– Pull the actuating lever backwards -arrow B- (this releases
the bonnet) and hold it in this position.
WARNING
Pulling out the actuating lever on a slant can damage the
fixture.
– At the same time, the actuating lever must be pulled out of
its fixture horizontally towards the centre of the vehicle -ar-
row C-.
Notes on installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the fol-
lowing points:
– Push the clips completely into the actuating lever.
– Press the actuating lever onto the fixture in the mounting
bracket and make sure that it engages.

– Remove the rear seat bench
– Remove the expanding clip -1-.
– Unclip the trim -2- using the removal wedge -3409- from the
side trim and side member, starting from the back -arrows-.
Notes on installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the fol-
lowing points:

◆ If the clips for the trim remain in the mounting points in the
body, remove these clips and insert into the trim.
◆ Check the clips for damage or deformation and replace as
necessary.
