To shorten, pull the free end of the lanyard in the direction of the
arrow. To lengthen, push the cam in the direction of the arrow with
your thumb (fig. 2D) or pull the handle.
Lory X used as a positioning device is not suitable for fall arrest
purposes. When a fall from height is a possibility, be always
secured with appropriate means of fall protection or prevention.
Full body suspension on a positioning device may be difficult to
escape from.
Figure 3: RESTRAINT
Anchor a restraint system perpendicular and away from the point on
the edge where the workplace is. Any possibility to fall over the edge
must be eliminated. Trim the line in the length adjustment element to
the right length to implement this.
Take particular care in proximity of roof corners or parallel edges
where additional safety measures may be necessary.
Figure 4 : TEMPORARY ANCHORING AROUND A STRUCTURE
To construct an anchor, pass the lanyard around a structure and
clip both connectors (EN 362) into the next element of the safety
chain (fig. 4A). Ensure that the structure the anchor is constructed
on has sufficient strength. Secure the device with a mule knot and
an overhand knot tie-off around the working part of the rope (fig.
4B). With large angles (>90° to 120°) use a ring or a rigging plate
(conforming to RfU/PPE-R/11.114) to avoid tri-axial loading on
plain connectors (fig. 4C).
Always secure the device, do not girth hitch and protect sharp
edges (fig. 4D)! If the anchor is part of a fall-arrest system, use
measures to absorb shock loads. It is prohibited to climb above the
attachment point to prevent injury and damage to the anchor.
