8.2 Electrical connection

The supply voltage (L+...L-) must be connected between pin 1 and pin
3 of the connector. The nominal supply voltage is 24 V DC. This voltage
may vary between 19.2 V and 30 V incl. 5% residual ripple to
EN 61131-2.
The device shall be supplied from an isolating source and protected by
an overcurrent device in accordance with UL 248 such that the limited
voltage/current circuit requirements in accordance with UL 508 are met.
(see page 36 for the wiring diagram).
In case of a single fault the supply voltage must not exceed
60 V DC for over 0.2 s up to a max. value of 120 V DC.
(This requires the safe separation between power supply
and transformer).

8.3 Sensor signals

The safe state is when the output is switched off (zero-current state:
logical "0" of an OSSD).
If the damping element is in the enable zone and there is no sensor
fault, both outputs (OSSD) are switched (logical "1").
The output data are based on the input data to EN 61131-2 type 1 or 2:
logical "1"
logical "0"
If the target is outside the enable zone, the outputs are switched off (logical
"0").
The fail-safe sensor incorporates cross-monitoring between
the two outputs which results in the switching off of the
outputs (OSSD).
Cross-bridging between the supply voltage and an output is
detected and results in the switching off of the other output.
