Loosen thewingknobontheupper chute, a djust c hute andchute
control to desired operating position.
2.
Tighten thewingknobontheupper chutemaking surethecarriage bolt
iscorrectly positioned. Refer t o Figure 8.

Test
iMPORTANT: P erformthefollowingtest beforeoperatingthesnow
throwerfor the firsttime and at the startof eachwinterseason.
Checkthe adjustment o f theauger controlas follows:
1. Whenaugercontrol isreleasedand in the disengaged"up" posi-
tion, cable shouldhavevery littleslack, but shouldNOTbe tight.

Donot over-tighten the cable.Over-tightening maypreventthe auger
from disengagingand compromise the safetyof the snow thrower.

Ina well-ventilated area,startthe snow throwerengineas
instructed on page 10 underthe headingStartingEngine.Make
thethrottleisset inthe FAST
sure
position.
3.
Whilestandingin operator'sposition(behindunit) engageauger.
4.
Allowaugerto remainengagedforapproximately ten (10)
secondsbeforereleasingthe augercontrol.Repeatthis several
times.
5.
With the engine runninginthe FAST_
positionand the auger
control in the disengaged"up"position,walk to the front of the
machine.
6.
Confirmthatthe auger hascompletelystoppedrotatingand
showsNO signsof motion
7.
If the augershowsANYsignsof rotating,immediately r eturnto
the operator'spositionand shut off the engine.Wait for all moving
partsto stopbeforereadjusting the augercontrol.
8.
Loosenthe rear hexbolton the cableadjustmentbracket. See
Figure9.
