4.2
PRELIMINARY CHECKS
Effective installation requires that the gate and its
mechanical features comply with the construction and
functional characteristics indicated below, which may
cause problems if not complied with.
Warning
•
The gate structure must comply with current
safety rules.
•
The main characteristic to be assessed is the
sliding performance: a good gate MUST be easily
moved by hand so that it can be opened in the
event of manual release. For this reason, the
dimensions and effi ciency of the wheels must be
checked (see par.4.2.3).
4.2.1 Inspection of the gate structure
The gate structure must be rigid, straight and in good
condition, without poorly fi xed or partially detached parts.
All types of automatic locking devices must also be
removed.
Warning
•
The gate structure must comply with current safety
rules, especially at points where there is a danger
of crushing or shearing.
4.2.2 Inspection of lower guide
The lower guide must be straight, horizontal (use a spirit
level) and in good condition. Also ensure that the wheels
are suitable for the type of guide used, with round or
V section (Fig.7).
Warning
•
A limit stop must be welded to the lower guide
of the opening wing (Fig.8) to prevent the gate
from slipping out of the guide and consequently A
SERIOUS RISK OF OVERTURNING.
