16 Maintenance and Repairs
16.1 Servicing and repairing the
ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery
bag with connecting cord
The ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with con‐
necting cord requires no servicing and cannot be
repaired.
► If the ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with
connecting cord or the connecting cord is
defective or damaged: Have the ADVANCE X-

► If the battery has a malfunction or is damaged:
Replace the battery.
Cause
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
The battery is too
warm or too cold.
There is an error in
the battery.
Cordless product is
too hot.
There is an error in
the battery.
No electrical contact
between cordless pro‐
duct and battery.
Cordless product or
battery damp.

Remedy
► Charge battery as described in the User
Manual for chargers STIHL AL 101, 301,
301-4, 500.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm
up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the ADV‐
ANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with con‐
necting cord.
► Insert the battery.
► Switch on the cordless product.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Contact
your STIHL servicing dealer for assis‐
tance.
► Remove the battery.
► Wait for cordless product to cool down.
► Remove the battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the cordless product.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red and short
beeps sound in quick succession: Do not
use the battery and contact your STIHL
authorized dealer for assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the ADV‐
ANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with con‐
necting cord.
► Insert the battery.
► If the cordless product still does not run
when switched on or cuts out during ope‐
ration: Clean the contacts of the connec‐
ting cable.
► Allow cordless product or battery to dry,
