Fig. 6: Inlet via drain pipe from the aquarium overflow (max. 32 mm pipe diameter)
However, the Ocean Clear can also be connected to an aquarium overflow (see Fig. 6). The inlet pipe then
protrudes into the narrow inlet chamber. The flow rate should not exceed 2,000 litres per hour, although this
depends on the filter installation. The flow rate should not be confused with the flow rate of the return pump
used. In an aquarium with an under cabinet filter and overflow, the maximum capacity of the pump is usually
considerably higher than the effective inflow to the filter due to the pipework and the difference in height.
Fig. 7: The fleece roll must not be blocked by the edge of the filter basin.
The higher the filter is mounted, the more space remains at the top. Please note that as the fleece
becomes increasingly dirty, the water level in the filter housing rises and water may spill over the
edge of the filter container if the flow rate is high. In this case, lower the float switch (Fig. 2) slightly.
To insert the filter insert with the mounted fleece roll into the filter container, pull the side disc with the float
switch attached to it upwards a little. Removal is carried out in reverse order.
If the fleece is completely dirty and wound up, remove it from the take-up reel by first pulling the motor and
then the reel out of the wound-up fleece to the side.
A completely soiled and wound fleece is removed from the take-up reel by first switching off the motor and then
pulling the reel out of the wound fleece to the side.
