6.1.3 Swivel-arm-mounted AC generators with belt drive
i A belt drive is necessary for driving AC generators at test speeds
above 6000 rpm. A further mounting table is required for this
purpose (special accessory, Part Number 1 687 000 064).

- Slide the mounting table (4/12) into the guideway (4/9) provided.
- Slide clamping device (4/10) onto guideway of mounting
table (4/12).
- Lightly screw the swivel arm slot (4/11) on the clamping device
(4/10) to the generator (4/5).
- Pull belt onto motor and generator belt wheels.
- Align the belt by moving the clamping device (4/10).
- Tension the belt by moving the mounting Table (4/12) in the
guide (4/9).
- Tighten the mounting table using tommy screw (4/8).
- Align rotational speed sensor with respect to generator axis and
tighten.
- Insert rotational-speed sensor connecting cable into socket (5).
- Switch on main switch (36).
Indicator lamp (36) lights up.
- Set speed measuring range to 12,000 rpm by pressing push-
button (30).

i The ground cable fitted to the starting motor clamping device
must be disconnected; otherwise false ammeter readings are
possible.
