Refer to local regulations in the country of use for anything
that is not specifi cally covered in this manual. In Italy, refer
to standard UNI 10683 in addition to any Regional or
Local Health Authority regulations.
If the insert is to be installed in a block of apartments, con-
sult the block administration before installing.
CHECKING COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DEVI-
CES
The insert must NOT be installed in the same room as type B
gas appliances, extractors, etc.
See chap. 4.1 of standard UNI 10683.
CHECKING ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
INPELLET 49 is supplied with an electrical power lead to be
connected up to a 230V 50 Hz socket and preferably with a
thermal magnetic switch.
Changes in voltage by more than 10% can affect the insert.
The electrical system must be certifi ed as legally compliant.
Specifi cally check the effi ciency of the earth circuit. The power
line must be of a section that is appropriate to the insert power.
An inadequate earthing system can cause anomalies for which
Edilkamin cannot be held liable.
SAFETY DISTANCE FOR FIRE-PREVENTION AND
POSITIONING
To function correctly, INPELLET 49 must be positioned on the
level.
Check that the fl oor load capacity is suffi cient.
INPELLET 49 must be installed in compliance with the fol-
lowing safety conditions:
- leave a minimum of 40 cm space to the sides and back from
any medium-fl ammable materials
- leave a minimum of 80 cm space to the front from any
medium-fl ammable materials
If it is impossible to leave the distances given above, technical
and construction provisions must be taken to avoid all fi re risk.
If connected to a wooden wall, or wall constructed from ano-
ther fl ammable material, the smoke exhaust pipe and other hot
parts must be insulated with ceramic fi bre or other, similar ma-
terials, to prevent heat transmission and resulting fi re hazards.
AIR INTAKE
An air intake must be prepared behind the insert and connected
with the outside. It must have a useful minimum section of
80 cm² to guarantee suffi cient air to the insert for combustion,
without creating depression in the installation room.
A 5 cm diameter outlet is found on the rear of the INPELLET
49.
This outlet is used for air intake connected directly with the
outside via pipes.
The pipes must not be longer than 1 metre and have no bends
and must have a wind guard at the end.
Note:
Even in the case of direct connection, an air inlet which
connects the installation room with the outside must be set.
INSTALLATION
SMOKE DISCHARGE
The discharge system must only be used for the insert (no
discharge permitted into a chimney fl ue shared with other
hearths).
Smoke discharge takes place from the mouth on the cover,
measuring 8 cm in diameter.
The smoke discharge must be connected with the outside, using
suitable sealed steel pipes.
The material used to seal and if necessary insulate the pipes,
must be resistant to high temperatures (high temperature silico-
ne or mastic).
The only horizontal section allowed may be up to 1 meter long,
avoiding any counter-slopes.
Up to two curves can be used with a max. angles of no less
than 90° (see the diagrams below).
If the discharge is not into a chimney fl ue, an external vertical
stretch will be required of at least 1.5 metres, and a
windproof terminal (reference chap. 4.2 UNI 10683).
This exhaust pipe must nevertheless surpass the height of the
eaves of the roof.
If the discharge is into a chimney fl ue, this must be suitable
for solid fuels. If it is more than 150 mm diameter, it must be
re-established by threading it with a new fl ue. The resulting
hollow space between the new and old fl ue must be sealed with
insulating material.
CHIMNEY POT
The main characteristics are:
- an internal cross-section at the base, which is the same as that
of the chimney fl ue
- an outlet cross-section which is no smaller than twice that of
the chimney fl ue
- its position must be high enough to catch the wind and avoid
downdraft areas in turbulent wind..
- 27
-
A: internal chimney fl ue up to the roof
B: external brick-built chimney fl ue
C: internal brick-built chimney fl ue
D: double-wall external steel chimney
fl ue (for the following installation, the
chimney fl ue must be double-walled and
well-insulated for the entire length)
