2. THE VOLTAGE OF THE BATTERY AT WORK
Take out the battery, , and then follow the instructions of "The watch battery "tester zone" (See : above).
Note : Check the components. No trace of oxide should appear. Take rust away or exchange parts.
3. THE ANALOG QUARTZ WATCH ZONE
Place the opened watch or the movement on the analog quartz watch zone. Keep in mind that some movements gene-
rate one impulse per second, and some others only every 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds.
• When the HOROTEC
functions and the mechanical part is faulty. Troubleshooting : check or clean mechanical parts (dust in wheels
train, hand that touch crystal or dial, etc.).
• When apparatus receives impulses but nevertheless the watch does not operate, test the coil continuity according
to the following.
4. THE CONTINUITY OF THE COIL
The measured resistance values are informing about the coil status, which can be the following :
• cut (resistance = . .. . )
• in shortcut (resistance = 0)
• not suitable, when the resistance value is different from the data given by the manufacturer. The'not suitable'
status generates additional consumption and shortens the battery life. Compare the measured resistance value with
the technical chart. (See : Appendix).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Illustrations refer to ETA 955.112 Watch Movement. We suggest you to proceed as follows.
o The battery voltage can be measured with mounted genuine battery.
o Readings from 0 to 19,99 Volts.
o Battery function (BATT) is activated with the OFF/MENU button.
o Practically no time limit during this test because it does not measure loaded
values.
o Make sure that the electrical energy reaches the watch electronic circuit.
➣ Note : In this case can be measured the unloaded voltage status.
Flashtest receives impulses, but the hands do not move, it means that the electronic part

o The coil continuity test is based on the measurement of coil resistance.
o Readings from 0 to 19,99kΩ.
o Operating voltage of ohmmeter is 0,2V. (The voltage, which exceeds this
value, is not convenient for getting correct readings.)
➣ Attention : Coil must not receive power from the watch battery !
