5. THE CONSUMPTION OF THE ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT
Compare the data with the technical chart. (See : Appendix).
• When the consumption is nil (0), it means, that the electronic circuit is faulty.
Troubleshooting : replace the electronic circuit
• When the consumption exceeds or does not match with manufacturer's given values, it means, that the circuit is
nearly end of life. Troubleshooting : replacement of circuit is highly recommended
6. THE CONSUMPTION OF THE MOVEMENT
Compare the measured data with the technical chart. When the consumption exceeds the manufacturer's value,
it might mean that :
a) The wheel train is dirty or faulty, which increases the friction, therefore more energy is needed to rotate the wheels.
Troubleshooting : clean, adjust or replace the train wheels.
b) The hands touch the dial or glass, or are not fitted correctly.
Troubleshooting : adjust, clean or replace the hands.
7. THE ACCURACY OF THE ANALOGUE QUARTZ WATCH (sec/day)
The frequency of the quartz is 32.768 Hz in the most cases. The "Quartz Analogue Watch" zone receives the magnetic
signs of the stepping motor of the watches. This divided control signal makes the steps of the minute- and second hands.
(Note : The calculated average value is in second/day.)
• Because the emitted signal of the quartz watches is very low, face down or up the watch to provide sufficient signal
for the measurement. If the measurement results are not stabile, move the watch to a better position. (It is possible
that you can't measure a watch with full plastic or rubber case without opening and dismounting it.)
o Readings from 0 to 19, 99 µA
o Pull the winding stem fully (in position 3. outwards)
o Take out the watch battery.
o If the watch is 1,5V type, set the menu on IC 1.5V.
o If the watch is 3,0V type, set the menu on IC 3,0V.
➣ Attention : DO NOT select the IC 3,0V function when testing a 1.5V
type watch. (The apparatus acts as a power supply and shows the current
consumption.)
o Readings from 0 to 19, 99µA
o Take out the watch battery.
o Press the winding stem completely: it activates all movement functions.
o If the watch is 1,5V type, set the IC 1.5V.
o If the watch is 3,0V type, set the IC 3,0V.
➣ Attention : DO NOT select the IC 3,0V function when testing a 1.5V type
watch. The apparatus acts as a power supply and shows the current consumption.
➣ Note : Wait 5-10 seconds to get stable and correct readings.
