• Continuity test automatically switches OFF after
approx. 30 seconds if no continuity is detected. If
continuity is detected the tester switch automatically
ON again.
Determining the Phase Rotation Indication
The voltage tester features a three-phase rotation
indicator with two probes.
Follow the safety instructions.
The Phase Rotation Indication Detector is always active,
and the LED
However, the phase rotation indication can be determined
only in a three-phase system between the phases. The
instrument displays the voltage between two phases.
• Connect the handle test probe
phase L1 and the indicator test probe
presumed phase L2.
• Firmly enclose the probe handle of indicator around
its body
If the LED
phase rotation is detected.
For 2100-Gamma:
If the LED
is detected.
For 2100-Alpha and 2100-Beta:
If the LED
rotation may be present.
TIP: When re-testing with exchanged test probes the
opposite result has to be shown.
Resistance measurement (Ω)
Low resistance indication " "
W
The test circuit/object shall be de-energized before
measurement.
• Check for the absence of voltage by conducting a two-
pole voltage test on the test object.
• Select function resistance measurement (Ω) / Low
resistance indication "
will show symbol "Ω".
• Connect both test probes to the test object. The tester
indicates the resistance digitally on the LCD screen
. For very low resistances the buzzer is now active.
This feature is very helpful to check wiring in
contactor and relay application without influence of the
coils.
Non contact voltage indication/electric field
(NCV/EF)
(2100-Gamma)
The NCV function is used to verify that the wire is
energized. The voltage tester will detect an energized
cable or wire.
During the NCV test to determine external voltage,
the display function may be impaired (e.g. with insulating
personal protective equipment or at insulating locations).
The NCV function is very helpful to find interruptions
in cables or wiring.
W
The voltage indication in NCV mode is not sufficient
to assure safety. This function is not suitable to test for
absence of voltage. This always requires a two-pole
voltage test.
• Select function NCV with pushbutton
show "EF".
