The pulling rope is guided past on the inside by the rope guide (4).

Wind at least 3 loops of the pulling rope around the capstan (2 or 3) (the more
loops, the higher the pulling force) and then route out at a 90° angle through
the safety rope guide (5). Keep the pulling rope tensed to avoid tangling.
The cable to be pulled is connected to
the pulling rope – preferably using a con-
necting swivel.
 Switch on the motor and start pulling.
 The operator stands next to the winch, keeping a sufficient safety distance
and pulls the pulling rope, applying very little force, at a 90° angle to the
pulling direction via the safety rope guide.
 The force applied should only be strong enough so as to achieve the
desired feed rate. Pulling with greater force will not increase the capstan
winch's pulling force!
 If the pulling rope slips on the reel, you can counteract this by applying
more force when pulling or by winding on a further 1–2 loops.
 Due to the ideal wrap factor, RUNPOTEC recommends polyester pulling
ropes Ø 10 mm.
