The pulling rope is guided past on the inside by the rope guide (4).

Wind at least 3 loops of the pulling rope around the capstan (2 or 3) (the more
loops, the higher the pulling force) and then route out at a 90° angle through
the safety rope guide (5). Keep the pulling rope tensed to avoid tangling.
The cable to be pulled is connected to
the pulling rope – preferably using a con-
necting swivel.
Switch on the motor and start pulling.
The operator stands next to the winch, keeping a sufficient safety distance
and pulls the pulling rope, applying very little force, at a 90° angle to the
pulling direction via the safety rope guide.
The force applied should only be strong enough so as to achieve the
desired feed rate. Pulling with greater force will not increase the capstan
winch's pulling force!
If the pulling rope slips on the reel, you can counteract this by applying
more force when pulling or by winding on a further 1–2 loops.
Due to the ideal wrap factor, RUNPOTEC recommends polyester pulling
ropes Ø 10 mm.
