INFORMATION
Please note that the latest USB driver version must always be installed to connect to the 60X1
USB fibre optics adapter. You can download the latest driver version from the following site:

7 Driver software installation
7.1 Installation in Windows XP
Close all open applications.
1) Insert the enclosed CD into the CD or DVD drive.
2) Connect the plug of the USB fibre optics adapter to the USB port on the computer.
→ The green LED on the USB fibre optics adapter lights up.
→ Windows XP recognises the USB fibre optics adapter automatically and launches the
installation wizard.
3) In the dialogue window for establishing the connection to Windows Update, select the option
No, not this time and click the Next button.
4) In the dialogue window for the driver search, select the automatic driver search and click the
Next button.
INFORMATION: If the automatic driver search does not work fully, enter the drive let
ter of the CD/DVD drive manually.
5) Follow the subsequent instructions of the installation wizard.
INFORMATION: If the information window that references the failed Windows logo
testing appears, the installation can still be continued regardless. To do so, click the
corresponding button.
→ The driver is installed in two steps (first "USB Controller" and then "COM-Port"). An addition
al installation process then starts after the installation of the "USB Controller", as described in
steps 3 to 5.
INFORMATION: To ensure the correct installation of the driver, the second installation
process must not be cancelled.
7.2 Installation in Windows Vista and Windows 7
Close all open applications.
1) Insert the enclosed CD into the CD or DVD drive.
2) In the dialogue window, select the option Run Setup.exe.
3) Follow the subsequent instructions of the installation wizard.
INFORMATION: If the information window that references a driver software publisher
that cannot be verified appears, the installation can still be continued regardless. To
do so, click the corresponding option in the dialogue window.
4) Follow the subsequent instructions of the installation wizard.
