RS-232C
The data format is as follows:

The baud rate (data transmission speed) can be
selected using the RS-232C/RS-485 SET menu (
) of the recorder.

Communication protocol
The communication is based on 1-byte units. When the
computer has transmitted 1 byte, it will wait for a
response from the recorder, then send the next.
The response from the recorder consists of 1 byte or
more.
Note on RS-232C communication
To initiate command operation, send T/L TABLE ON
(F6H) to the recorder.
The recorder will respond with ACK (0AH).
The recorder will accept commands until you send T/L
TABLE OFF (F7H) to end command operations.
RS-485
The data format is as follows:

Note on RS-485 communication
• If the address set using the RS-232C/RS-485 SET
menu (
) of the recorder is not correct, the
page 47(GB)
recorder will not operate.
• When a group number is set, if it does not match the
group number of the recorder, the recorder will not
operate.
Regular Commands
For the commands discussed below, the recorder
always respond with ACK (0AH) or NAK (0BH)
(except in broadcast transmission).
RS-232C commands
T/L TABLE ON (F6H)
Starts RS-232C control.
T/L TABLE OFF (F7H)
Ends RS-232C control.
RS-232C/RS-485 commands
PLAY (3AH)
Starts playback.
STOP (3FH)
Stops playback.
SEARCH / FR/FI (22H)
• Displays the SEARCH menu when the recorder is in
Recording mode or Stop status.
• Switches between Frame mode and Field mode when
the recorder is in Playback mode.
STILL (4FH)
Sets the recorder to Still-Picture mode from Playback
mode.
SHIFT ← (53H)
Functions the same as counterclockwise rotation of the
Shuttle dial on the recorder.
SHIFT ↑ (54H)
Functions the same as counterclockwise rotation of the
Jog dial on the recorder.
Exceptions:
1. Increases the speed of playback in progress.
2. Increases values on a menu display.
