Starting procedure
To restart a warm engine, follow the
procedure for "High Air Temperature".
Normal Air Temperature
10° - 35 °C (50° - 95 °F)
1. With the engine cold, pull the choke knob
(1) fully out.
2. Start the engine, leaving the throttle
closed.
Do not open the throttle when starting the
engine with the choke ON. This will lean the
mixture, resulting in hard starting.
NOTICE
Operating the engine with insufficient oil
pressure can cause serious engine damage.
3. Immediately after the engine has started,
activate choke knob (1) to keep idle
speed at:
1500 - 2000 min
4. Approximately 30 seconds after the engine
has started push the choke knob (1) fully in
until it is completely closed.
5. If idling is unstable, open the throttle
slightly.
