Basic setting
Fundamentally, when fitting tools
the central middle setting (basic
setting 0) should be the starting
point.
Coarse adjustment
The scale with graduated marks on
the cartridge and bridge is used for
coarse adjustment.
Fine adjustment
The graduated dial (vernier) is used
for fine adjustment by using a hexa-
gon L-wrench to adjust the slider.
Notes on using the vernier
Using the vernier, it is possible to
set the diameter to 2μm. The star-
ting point is the point at which a
graduation mark of the vernier and
a graduation mark of the scale dial
are congruent (black arrow).
If the vernier mark is moved to
the right to line up with the next
graduation to the right on the ring
dial, this corresponds to a diameter
change of plus 2μm.
If the vernier mark is moved to the
left to line up with the next gradua-
tion to the left on the ring dial, this
corresponds to a diameter change
of minus 8μm.
