1 Applications and
Setup Options
The unit ODB-1212RGBW is used for ef-
fect illumination (e. g. for emitting coloured
light or for creating running light effects and
stroboscope effects); due to its weather-
proof aluminium housing, the unit is also
suited for outdoor applications. 12 extra
bright RGBW LEDs of the OSRAM brand
are used as a light source.
The unit is designed for control via a
DMX light controller (optionally 59, 11, 8, 5,
4 or 3 DMX control channels), but it is also
possible to operate the unit on its own with
a lighting colour set or with various show
programs running. In addition, multiple
ODB-1212RGBW can be interconnected
(master/slave mode) to create synchro-
nous light effects.
Use the mounting/setup brackets (C)
located on the rear side to screw the unit to
a wall or ceiling or to place it onto an even
surface. For upside-down installation on a
crossbar, two C hooks are additionally
required (e. g. PAST-1, TA- ...).
As a special feature, the unit supports
66 subaddresses when used in DMX mode
with 11 or 59 channels. Thus, it is possible
to independently control up to 66 ODB-
1212RGBW via a single DMX start address
and the maximum number of DMX-con-
trolled units possible is substantially in-
creased.

tives of the EU and is therefore marked

if the unit is used for other purposes than
originally intended, if it is not safely
mounted, if it is not correctly connected
or operated, or if it is not repaired in an
expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of opera-
tion definitively, take it to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment.

3 Setting into Operation

WARNING To prevent damage to your
eyes, never look directly into
the light source for any length
of time.
Please note that fast changes in lighting

epilepsy!
Connect the plug (A) of the cable POWER
IN to the inline jack of the mains cable pro-
vided and then use the cap nut to screw the
plug-in connection together (fig. 1 shows
the completed connection).
CAUTION! If no further unit is connected to
the cables POWER OUT and DMX OUT,
make absolutely sure to screw the protec-
tive covers onto the inline jacks. The cable
POWER OUT carries mains voltage!
Connect the mains plug to a mains socket
(230 V~/ 50 Hz). The unit will be switched
on. The display will indicate the operating
mode.
