Radio mode

This device is equipped with an RDS radio
receiver. Almost all of the receivable FM
stations broadcast a signal that not only
carries the programme but also additional
information such as the station name and
programme type (PTY).
The station name appears on the display
6 as soon as the tuner receives it.

Switching to radio mode

If you are in a different operating mode,
u
press the BND button 2,
or
u
press the SRC button > repeat-
edly until "RADIO" appears on the dis-
play 6.
The display 6 shows the current frequen-
cy or the station name.
Convenient RDS functions
(AF, REG)
The
convenient
(Alternative Frequency) and REG (Regional)
expand the performance spectrum of your
radio device:
AF: If the convenient RDS function is
activated, the device automatically
searches in the background for the best
receivable frequency of the set station.
REG: At certain times, some radio sta-
tions divide their programme into re-
gional programmes providing different
content. The activated REG function
prevents the device from switching to
alternative frequencies of the adjusted
station that are transmitting a different
programme content.

Switching the RDS function on/off

To use the RDS functions AF and REG,
press the RDS button =.
The convenient RDS functions are active
if the RDS symbol appears on the dis-
play 6.

Press the MENU button 7.

Press the

until "REG" and the current setting "ON"
or "OFF" appear on the display 6.

Press the

REG on or off.
To exit the menu,

press the MENU button 7.
Note:
The setting REG ON/OFF takes effect
only if the RDS function is activated.
Selecting the waveband/memory
bank
This device can be used to receive pro-
grams of the frequency bands FM, MW and
LW (Europe) or FM and AM (NAFTA). There
are three memory banks available for the
FM waveband (FM1, FM2 and FMT) and
one for each of the MW and LW or AM wave-
bands. An additional memory bank MWT/
LWT or AMT is also available. Six stations
can be stored in each memory bank.
To toggle among the wavebands or memory
banks,

press the BND button 2.
